Digital Publishing Specialist, Florida Trend

Florida Trend Magazine is looking for a Digital Publishing Specialist. The primary responsibility of the Digital Publishing Specialist will be to work in unison with digital team members to help oversee all digital projects from scope definition, planning, estimating, design, development, and launch.
 Oversee with digital team members all of Florida Trend’s digital offerings including websites, e-mail blasts and eNewsletters.
 Work with Publisher to plan and successfully implement the Company’s web strategies.
 Work in conjunction with Publisher and other department managers, so the Company’s long-range goals, objectives and strategies are being implemented.
 Works with digital team members to ensure products are delivered on time, are of high quality and are within budget.
 Works on all aspects of the website and outstanding jobs
1. Manage, promote and develop the Company’s websites through continual review of site performance and web analytics.
2. Provide solid information and reliable guidance to the Publisher and the Company’s editorial, advertising, production, and marketing departments. Help with the coordination of these departments’ web-related activities.
3. Involvement in planning and successfully executing the web department’s expense budget.
4. Maintain good relationships with web vendors and hosting company.
5. Manage needed domain name registrations and renewals.
6. Along with digital team members, design and manage the look of the Company’s websites - making sure online products work well both online and on mobile devices.
7. When appropriate, create or manage the creation of multimedia presentations, including animations, audio and video.
8. Assist the Web Editor when appropriate with graphics, proofreading, etc. for the Daily Pulse, Afternoon Pulse and weekly industry eNewsletters. Fill in as needed to produce the Daily Pulse and Afternoon Pulse.
9. Help create Web advertising and marketing materials, including house ads, PDFs and e-zines. Create and maintain the online Media Kit.
10. Create and use Web analytics to help sales and marketing efforts.
11. Work with digital team members to handle customer-service-related e-mail baskets.
Work with the company’s audience department to maintain an integrated
database of web and print subscribers.
13. Work with Marketing and Audience Development on specialized email blasts.
14. Stay abreast of current Internet trends. Update skills in web design, HTML, etc.

1. Consistently demonstrate a collaborative attitude to build positive working
relationships with colleagues on all levels.
2. 4-year college degree.
3. Four years of work in online management, design and development.
4. E-mail marketing experience necessary.
5. At least one year of journalism experience.
6. Advanced computer skills, including web design, HTML, CSS, photo editing and
7. A solid understanding of web technology, internet presentation (GUI), and SEO
for PC, Mac and mobile devices.
8. Command of the Adobe Design suite of programs.
9. Vendor contract management experience.

Javascript coding and PHP coding.
Working knowledge of Florida business, statewide regions, Florida politics and
state public policy
