The Role
The Scrum Master is responsible for timely and successful delivery of features/enablers for programmatic business and/or technology objectives that require coordination of multiple scrum teams. Facilitates process, project and program execution, escalates impediments, manages risk and helps drive program-level continuous improvement. The position will be located at our office in downtown St. Petersburg, FL.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for end to end delivery of projects.
  • Helps teams self-organize and self-manage.
  • Organizes and facilitates daily stand-up meetings, reviews, estimation, retrospectives and release planning, demos, burndown tracking and other Scrum-related meetings.
  • Works collaboratively with Business and IT partner teams to support development and software delivery.
  • Assists the Product Owner and Technical Product Manager in user story creation/prioritization and product Backlog grooming via emergent requirements.
  • Asks difficult questions, removes impediments, and makes issues and problems visible. Escalates as necessary.
  • Ensures development team is working efficiently towards goals.
  • Coaches the development team and stakeholders on how to use Agile/Scrum practices at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Ensures the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
  • Ensures cross functional coordination (analysts, developers and testers) is occurring early and often.
  • Recommends improvements and drives changes to best practice.
  • Identifies and manages issues and jeopardies with a clear grasp of the challenges/options until resolved
  • Mitigates all risks and issues “real-time”, executing resolutions on demand.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams with diverse personalities, during high pressure scenarios, within extremely tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrates awareness of Agile technology practices (e.g., Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
  • 2-3 years of Agile delivery experience / recent hands-on experience as a Scrum Master including coaching on Scrum methodologies.
  • Relevant certification in the field preferred (i.e. Professional Scrum Master (PSM I), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Agile Scrum Master (ASM), Scrum Master Certified (SCM), SAFe Advanced Scrum Master Certification)
  • Proven leadership experience in achieving successful project outcomes as a Scrum master or Project Manager
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, have excellent verbal/written skills, possess strong planning skills, be a self-starter who also takes direction well, and possess the ability to communicate effectively while meeting deadlines
  • Adaptable, Agile – positive outlook; broad-minded and open to change; views change as an opportunity; responsive to ad hoc requests
  • Servant-leader – Able to garner respect from his/her team and be willing to get their hands dirty to get the job done
  • Attitude of transparency – Must desire to bring disclosure and transparency to the business and grow business trust
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Proficiency in TFS or other Agile Project Management tool is preferred.
